Our amazing staff

  • As practice administrator and licensed practical nurse (LPN) for Urban Podiatry, Steve ensures that all patients have access to quality healthcare and the appropriate resources in the community. Steve assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care for Urban Podiatry patients. He is also responsible for all office systems, scheduling, billing and managing office support staff.

     

    Prior to joining Urban Podiatry, Steve was an LPN for the Columbus Neighborhood Health Center, a multi-disciplinary community health center. He was promoted to Health Center Manager within two years. In this role, he managed over 30 employees.

     

    For four years, Steve served in the U.S. Army at William Beaumont Army Medical Center and at the Combat Support Hospital in Bagram, Afghanistan. He received the Army achievement medal for exemplary performance in Afghanistan. Steve is currently serving in the U.S. Air Force Reserves.

     

    Steve received his licensed practical nursing certification while serving in the U.S. Army and attended Excelsior College of Nursing. He earned a degree in business administration from Columbus State

     

    Steve has one son and is involved in coaching youth football. He recently completed the Columbus Marathon and is preparing for his next. He has a passion for community involvement and has organized food service and warm clothing programs for the homeless.

    As medical assistant for Urban Podiatry, Sean utilizes his medical experience to perform his clinical responsibilities, Sean prepares patients for Dr. Bertolo and obtains x-rays, fits and casts for supportive and corrective footgear, as well as orthotic custom inserts.

     

    Prior to joining Urban Podiatry, Smith worked for an area healthcare center as a medical assistant. Sean served honorably for four years in the U.S. Army, which included deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. After his service in the Army he joined the U.S. Air force as a Flight Medic where he received training in Basic and Advanced Care Life Support (BLS, ACLS), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS)./p>

    As administrative assistant and billing specialist for Urban Podiatry, Charrise is responsible for scheduling, patient check-in, medical billing, and general patient support.

     

    Charrise has worked in the medical industry for over fifteen years. Prior to joining Urban Podiatry, she was the health center administrator at a local health center and was responsible for more than 45 employees. Her experience, at the Detroit Medical Center and in private practice, has prepared her well to place the priority on patient care.

     

    Charrise received her Medical Office Assistance Certificate from Oak Park Community in Oak Park, Michigan. She is currently pursuing her Business Management degree from Columbus State Community College.

     

    A parent and foster parent, Charrise believes in giving back. She is also in the planning phase to start a not-for-profit foundation that will provide shoes for the homeless or those in need.
